If there’s one thing we’ve learned from the Biden administration, it’s that the best way to fight misinformation is with music.
In that spirit, I want to look at three of the most flagrant and horrifying examples of blatant disinformation fed to the American public during Vice President Kamala Harris’ six-day presidential campaign rally. In addition to exposing the obvious lies, I’ll also share some new versions of popular show songs for us to sing along to and share.
The most obvious example is the 180 degree turn by Democrats and the media on whether Harris was Joe Biden’s border secretary. She was. Just as John Kerry was Secretary of Climate Change, Bill Bennett was once Secretary of Education. This is technical terminology, not a formal literal appointment to Russian royalty.
The liberal media claims that Kamala Harris has never been a “Border Minister,” but this contradicts their own reporting.
Joe Biden has repeatedly given Harris responsibility for easing tensions at the border, and it’s on tape. Republicans aren’t just making this up, and the media has had no problem calling the VP in charge of the border. But now, all of a sudden, that’s just not true.
So for this bit of misinformation, I chose Gene Autry’s classic “South of the Border Down Mexico Way,” written in 1939 by Michael Carr and Jimmy Kennedy.
Our Southern Border
It was run by the Emperor
Her name is Kamala
And she had a job
Immigration is banned
She said: “Don’t come here.”
Stay Home
But if it exceeds 8 million
They came anyway.
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh that’s true.
The next outrageous lie I wanted to address is that in just two and a half days, Kamala Harris “won” the nomination through a tireless “grassroots” and “bottom-up” effort. Good old Chuck Schumer and the liberal media told us that tens of millions of Democrat voters gathered at their local Elks Lodge or whatever and cast their primary votes. In fact, to this day, no one has voted for Kamala for president except for party brass.
Here I decided to choose the 1924 classic “It Had to Be You” by Isham Jones and Gus Kahn, a song we all remember Dooley Wilson performing in “Casablanca.”
It was Kamala
It was Kamala
Management makes demands, without regard for voters
The poor fools follow you
Barak obeys no one else
In other words, it’s all about Harris.
It was Kamala
Kakrin Kamala
It had to be her!

Finally, there’s the small matter of Govtrack, a supposedly neutral website that is deleting past pages that accurately described Harris as the most liberal senator. Meanwhile, her Wikipedia page continues to be deleted, and god knows what other information is being scrubbed with Orwellian fury. This is history being rewritten before our eyes, and they’re not even trying to hide it. Out goes the old left Kamala, in comes the new moderate Kamala.
A natural choice from the American songbook here is the Rodgers and Hammerstein song “Wash that Man Right Out of My Hair” from the musical “South Pacific.”
I’ll wash that smell of waking up from my hair
I’ll wash that smell of waking up from my hair
The government truck will erase it.
The media will replace it.
And push the new Kamala out the door.

We all have a role to play in fighting misinformation, but as the Biden administration’s former disinformation chief taught us, there’s no reason we can’t do it with a song in our hearts.
