Hunter Biden Addresses Democrats in Controversial Interview
Hunter Biden has expressed frustration towards Democrats who credit Jake Tupper and Alex Thompson for shedding light on his father’s cognitive decline during a peculiar three-hour interview with YouTubers.
The former first son, who has remained largely out of the media spotlight for some time, discussed Andrew Callahan’s “Get Money,” a book that outlines a purported White House effort to conceal President Joe Biden’s mental health issues. He took aim at public figures like George Clooney, James Kerrville, and David Pruf.
According to the book, in June 2024, Hunter observed an incident during a Hollywood fundraiser co-hosted by Clooney, where President Biden appeared to struggle to recognize his old friend. Reports state that the president seemed remarkably different, as if he’d aged significantly since December 2022.
After a troubling debate performance against Donald Trump, Clooney reportedly urged the 81-year-old candidate to reconsider his run for the presidency.
While reflecting on his recent experience with Clooney, Hunter mentioned, “It’s heartbreaking to say this, but the Joe Biden I encountered at the fundraiser was not the same person from 2010.” In an op-ed for the New York Times, he emphasized that the man people witnessed in the debate wasn’t even the same individual from the last election cycle.
“Forget him!” Hunter exclaimed regarding Clooney. He added, “I’m not obligated to be nice. Honestly, I tend to agree with Quentin Tarantino—Clooney is more of a brand than an actor.”
Hunter continued by recognizing Clooney’s generosity towards friends but criticized him for what he saw as ineffective support for the president. According to him, people should be concerned about factors that compromise the presidency’s strength, suggesting that Republicans might have the upper hand due to their unity.
Kerrville, a veteran Democratic strategist, noted that Biden’s decline was apparent even before the release of Tupper and Thompson’s work, while David Axelrod remarked on the book’s insights, calling aspects of it intriguing, despite feeling targeted by Hunter’s criticisms.
Hunter took aim at both Kerrville and Axelrod, suggesting that their political successes were limited, with Axelrod’s wins mainly tied to Barack Obama.
Another advisor, Pruf, stated that the potential loss for Democrats in 2024 would be entirely Biden’s fault, characterizing it as a significant betrayal of the party.
Hunter voiced his thoughts on a podcast, urging Biden to withdraw from the race before it became necessary. He expressed disdain for the “Pod Save America” hosts, implying that their backgrounds didn’t justify their influence within the party.
He went on to criticize Anita Dunn, another former Biden advisor, pointing out the substantial earnings she garnered from Democratic affiliations, tying her actions to a perceived injustices regarding his father’s recent pardon.
Hunter’s larger critique revolved around the expertise of those advising his father, suggesting they lacked the understanding of electoral politics contrary to Bident’s extensive legislative history.
Furthermore, Hunter dismissed the credibility of Tupper and his work, stating, “Jake Tupper doesn’t have a significant following; his influence is minimal.”
He concluded by discussing the impact of “Get Money” on public perception, asserting that the narrative harms everyone involved. In the extensive interview, Hunter reflected on various personal struggles, including his history with substance abuse, and critiqued his father’s recent public appearances. He noted, “At 81 years old, he seems exhausted, and people are even giving him Ambien to help him sleep. When he gets on stage, he looks lost.”
