A stream of illegal immigrants poured through a gap in the border wall created by smugglers in Lukeville, Ariz., Thursday night, highlighting the challenges Border Patrol agents continue to face even in areas where walls are being built.
Fox News filmed a video in Lukeville, Arizona, showing illegal immigrants streaming through a ditch carved by cartels. Possible smugglers emerge from the gap, applauding the illegal immigrants to hurry before returning to Mexico.
In another part of the video, smugglers are seen recording the migrants on their cell phones, presumably recording evidence of their human cargo being delivered to the United States.

This video shows smugglers coordinating illegal immigrants to enter the United States, at which point they either flee deep into the United States or turn themselves in to Border Patrol, then placed under the protection of a non-governmental organization. There are many things.
In addition to the more than 2.4 million encounters in fiscal 2023, there were more than 300,000 encounters with migrants in December alone, including those who entered the country illegally and those who showed up at ports of entry.
Meanwhile, Fox reported that more than 5,000 migrants were released each day during December. The number of illegal immigrants listed on Immigration and Customs Enforcement's non-custodial registry jumped from 3.7 million in fiscal year 2021 to nearly 4.8 million in fiscal year 2022 and nearly 6.2 million in fiscal year 2023. The non-detention record includes illegal immigrants who have received final orders of removal. or in removal proceedings but not in ICE custody.
The crisis has increased political pressure on the Biden administration. Not only Republicans but also Democratic mayors who have seen large numbers of immigrants flood into their cities are calling on the administration to do more to resolve the crisis.
Republicans are calling on the Biden administration to limit the release of migrants into the interior of the United States, including the use of humanitarian parole. House Republicans are also pushing legislation that would reinstate Trump-era programs and limit asylum applications.

The Biden administration has said it is facing a hemispheric crisis and is pursuing policies that target smugglers, expand “legal channels,” and increase the impact of illegal immigration, with 46 deaths since May. They claim to have forcibly evicted more than 10,000 people.

But it says it operates within a broken system and needs funding from Congress and immigration reform. The administration has asked for an additional $14 billion, but that request is on hold as Republicans demand expanded asylum limits, which many Democrats reject.
Separately, the Biden administration announced a lawsuit against the state of Texas this week after Gov. Greg Abbott signed a bill that allows state and local police to arrest illegal immigrants.
