Missile Attacks on Israel Shortly After Truce Announcement
On Tuesday, shortly after President Donald Trump revealed a two-week halt in U.S. operations against Tehran, Iran retaliated with missile attacks directed at Israel.
President Trump made the announcement late on Tuesday, stating that he had decided to extend the deadline regarding Iran by two weeks while also pausing U.S. military actions during this period. Yet, even with this truce in place, sirens were blaring in Israel soon after Trump’s post on Truth Social. Fox News correspondent Mike Tobin, reporting live from Tel Aviv, noted that missile alerts began almost immediately.
“Jesse, as soon as the ceasefire was announced, a large number of missiles were launched. It took less than five minutes from the Truth Social post for my phone to alert me about missiles being fired from Iran,” Tobin explained. “The first missile was intercepted, and debris fell on the outskirts of Jerusalem without causing any problems. What we saw here in Tel Aviv appeared to be cluster bombs, similar to fireworks during the Fourth of July. They split apart, with one bright dot racing downward, and the submunitions themselves glow at first, then dim, and finally explode upon impact. It seems like we’re getting another missile alert.”
Tobin further reported that while Israeli officials are not entirely satisfied with Tehran’s 10-point proposal, they still plan to uphold the agreement.
“In terms of the ceasefire agreement, we hear from Israeli officials that they wanted more objectives to be met in this conflict prior to signing the ceasefire. They’re not particularly pleased with what Iran is proposing in this 10-point deal, but they have stated they will adhere to the ceasefire, and that’s President Trump’s call,” Tobin added.
