Huckabee Claims Iran’s Aim is to Annihilate the U.S.
U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee addressed the Israel National Security Research Council, asserting that President Donald Trump is adamant about preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
In a recent interview released by Iranian state media, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Iran is in a “total war” with the United States, Israel, and European nations, who he claims are trying to subjugate his country.
Pezeshkian expressed, “We are indeed at total war with the United States, Israel, and Europe,” suggesting that Western powers aim to weaken Iran. He described the current situation as more intricate than the Iran-Iraq conflict of the 1980s, noting that Iran is facing pressure ‘from all sides.’
He emphasized the complexity of today’s scenario compared to the previous war, stating, “In the Iran-Iraq war, we knew our targets and could launch missiles confidently.” He further elaborated that the current challenges encompass issues related to livelihood, culture, politics, and security.
Despite the escalating tensions, Pezeshkian claims that Iran’s military capabilities have been strengthened following a conflict with Israel in June. He remarked, “Our military is executing its duties with resilience, becoming more robust even with current difficulties in equipment and personnel.” He warned that any further aggression would be met with a strong response.
Pezeshkian’s comments came just before a planned meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Trump, amidst tension following a violent air conflict this June. This conflict resulted in significant casualties, with around 1,100 deaths in Iran, including military leaders and nuclear scientists, while Iranian missile strikes claimed 28 lives in Israel.
On June 22, President Trump announced military strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, describing it as a successful operation aimed at dismantling Iran’s nuclear potential. A ceasefire between Iran and Israel was established shortly after, facilitated by the United States.
