Israel, Hamas reach deal to release hostages. Palestinians to return to Gaza Strip

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office has reached an agreement with Hamas on Sunday and has reached an agreement to release additional hostages this Thursday.

Qatar has supported an agreement that is expected to alleviate the first major crisis in the vulnerable ceasefire between Hamas and Israel.

“After deciding on a company led by Netanyafu, Hamas will retreat and carry out an additional stage for hostage release on Thursday,” Netanyaf's office said. “As part of this stage, the Israeli citizen Abel Jefd, the soldier Agam Berger, and one additional hostage will be released.”

The statement also noted that three additional hostages will be announced on Saturday as part of the contract.

Israel has confirmed that Hamas has handed over a specified list of hostage, which is expected to be released in the first stage. The local media reported the list of the number of living hostages and dead hostages, although they do not include their names.

Israeli officials argue that most of the remaining 26 hostages are alive, matching the list provided by Hamas.

Netanyahu's office also stated that Israel would allow Palestinians to return to the northern Gaza area from Monday morning under the agreement with Hamas.

Netanyahu has repeatedly added that Israel has repeatedly not allowed the agreement between the two parties and continues to promote the return of all the dead or alive hostages.

Similarly, the White House has announced a statement on Sunday afternoon that the arrangement between Israel and Lebanon is monitored by the United States and is valid until February 18, 2025.

“The Lebanon Government, Israeli, and the US government will begin negotiations on the return of the Lebanon prisoners after October 7, 2023,” said the statement.

The agreement between Israel and Hamas comes after accusation that the former has changed the hostage order that the latter was to be released. As a result, the Israeli army blocked thousands of Palestinians returning to northern Gaza.

The Israeli army has also announced on Friday that they will not withdraw from South Lebanon, because the Lebanon government will need a ceasefire until the Lebanon has fully implemented its own responsibility. According to the contract, both groups were expected to withdraw by Sunday.

“The IDF unit, active in southern Lebanon, fired a warning shot to remove threats in many identified areas that were approaching the army,” IDF wrote in a statement on Sunday.

The conflict came shortly after Donald Trump called Egypt and Jordan to accept refugees from Gaza and “clean” the area.

“I want to bring people to Egypt,” said Trump. “You're probably talking about a million and a half years, so we clean everything and say,” You know, it's over. ” “
