With only days left until the war in Gaza ends after four months, the Israeli military issued a stern warning to Hezbollah and Iran on Saturday.
Israeli Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari told Hezbollah that Israel was “ready to attack immediately” if provoked, but said it did not want an outright war.
“War is not our first choice, but we are certainly prepared,” Hagari said. “We will continue to act wherever Hezbollah is and where it is needed in the Middle East.” We will continue to act wherever we are.” Lebanon applies to Syria, and it applies to other more distant places as well. ”
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant issued a similar warning over the weekend, saying that even if Israel agreed to a ceasefire with Hamas, the IDF would not hesitate to attack Hezbollah if necessary.

Later this week, Israel will mark four months since it began its retaliatory campaign against Hamas. Israeli officials have repeatedly warned that they expect the war to last “many more months.”

President Biden’s administration has made clear its response, and Iran has similarly vowed to respond “firmly” to any attack by the United States. U.S. Central Command announced Friday that U.S. forces have conducted airstrikes on more than 85 targets in the United States. Iraq and Syria against the Quds Force and associated militias of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).
