Israeli Military Responds to Ceasefire Violations
In light of recent ceasefire violations, the Israeli military announced on Wednesday that it has commenced attacks on Hamas targets across the Gaza Strip. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that early today, some militants fired upon IDF soldiers operating in Khan Younis, which they deemed a breach of the ceasefire agreement.
As a reaction, the IDF initiated airstrikes on Hamas facilities throughout Gaza, assuring that no Israeli soldiers were harmed during the incident. They added that southern IDF forces would stay engaged in the area to neutralize any immediate threats.
Netanyahu Urges Regional Cooperation Against Hamas
On the same day, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on neighboring nations to collaborate with Israel in efforts to expel Hamas from the region. His office shared a message urging allies to normalize relations with Israel while supporting the fight against Hamas and its associates.
The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas had initially been established on October 10. Additionally, the IDF reported on Monday about having targeted a Hamas training facility in the Ain al-Hilwe area of southern Lebanon, asserting that this site was utilized by Hamas for organizing attacks against Israeli forces. The military purportedly took steps to minimize civilian harm prior to the operation.
UN Security Council Backs Peace Initiative
In recent developments, the United Nations Security Council endorsed President Trump’s peace plan for Gaza, adopting a proposal aimed at ending hostilities and establishing an international stabilization force.
