The Israeli delegation attending the Olympics has received multiple death and other threats throughout the week. Israel’s National Security Council has warned its citizens attending the Paris Olympics to remain vigilant.
“Given the extensive media coverage that ‘successful’ terrorist attacks at Olympic Games receive, such international events tend to be attractive targets for threats and attacks by terrorist groups,” the council explained in a public message. “Various terrorist organizations, primarily Global Jihad Group, Hamas and Shiite terrorist organizations (Iran, Hezbollah), operate relentlessly to harm Israelis and Jewish people both in Israel and abroad.”
