Israel’s Aid to Syrian Druze Amid Accusations of Palestinian Genocide
Israel is actively working to prevent what many see as a potential genocide of the Druze Arabs in Syria while facing accusations of committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.
Recent reports from Israeli media indicate that on Sunday, Israel offered medical support to the beleaguered Druze community in Svaida, located in southwestern Syria. Despite some coordination with the US, which is assisting in managing aid with the Syrian government dealing with jihadist threats, Israel is largely conducting these efforts independently. The so-called “international community” doesn’t seem to be present in this situation.
Humanitarian Assistance Reported
According to reports, Israel collaborated with the US to send humanitarian aid and medical supplies overnight to the Druze in Majoritisweida, Syria, as noted by Israeli TV.
The Kan Public Broadcasting Station mentioned that while Israel coordinated with both the US and the Syrian administration, details on how the operation was executed remain unclear.

Israel has a Druze community of its own and asserts that its actions are not only to protect this group but also to press for the complete demilitarization of southern Syria.
This delivery of aid followed Israel’s recent strikes on military headquarters in Damascus, reflecting its commitment to stopping any potential massacre of the Druze population.
Back in Gaza, Israel continued its efforts to provide assistance to Palestinians but faces accusations from the United Nations and various critics. The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) released footage of soldiers responding as crowds of Palestinians gathered near aid trucks in Gaza, appearing supportive of Israelis.
Israel is also supporting the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which is regarded as a US-backed alternative to the UN, distributing millions of meals daily to Gaza. However, the foundation has faced false accusations from Palestinians.
Hamas and the UN seem to be undermining the GHF’s position in Gaza, likely to disrupt its growing influence. Hamas has been known to control humanitarian aid flow by hoarding it or selling it to residents.
