Jack Osbourne Avoids Political Talks
Jack Osbourne has expressed a clear disinterest in discussing politics with paparazzi.
Recently seen at the Capitol with his mother, Sharon, Osbourne was there to honor his late father, Ozzy, who passed away in 2025. As they were leaving, a reporter approached him seeking his views on current events.
In response, Osbourne swiftly shut down the conversation, stating, “You know, I think celebrities need to keep their mouths shut,” highlighting a sentiment that many might share.
Keeping It Simple
To put it plainly, Osbourne laid out his philosophy for celebrities: “Make entertainment, entertain people, and shut up.” It’s a pretty straightforward take, really.
The Australian reporter pressed further, asking why Osbourne felt he shouldn’t use his platform to influence others. His reply echoed his earlier sentiment: if that’s the goal, then perhaps it would be better to pursue a political career instead of celebrity status.
Reflecting on the Past
Osbourne’s view seems to imply a certain frustration with the intersection of celebrity and politics. Notably, his father, Ozzy, although not overtly political, had moments where he shared his thoughts, like criticizing the Iraq War during George W. Bush’s presidency. Yet, he largely kept his career in the entertainment realm.
It’s interesting to note that, even after former President Trump reached out about using Ozzy’s song “Crazy Train” at rallies, they managed to maintain a decent rapport.
Attending the Capitol event was in honor of Indiana Congresswoman Victoria Spartz’s tribute to Ozzy Osbourne by entering a biography into the Congressional Record. Spartz had previously voiced her condolences, praising Ozzy as a “true pioneer of heavy metal.”
Celebrity Discontent
Osbourne also emphasized that entering politics isn’t part of his plan. He remarked he had a “great day” in Washington, D.C., but felt lonely without his father, suggesting Ozzy would have cherished being there.
Interestingly, Osbourne isn’t alone in his feelings. Many celebrities seem to be stepping back from political engagements. Rocker Gene Simmons has expressed similar sentiments about avoiding political discussions, going so far as to advise liberal celebrities to “shut up.” Actor Jamie Kennedy has also chimed in, criticizing what he views as the hypocrisy of some celebrities’ political stances.
