Renowned Democratic strategist identifies the key figure to follow for 2028

Carville Discusses Shift in Trump Support

Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville shared his thoughts recently, suggesting that support for President Donald Trump may be dwindling. He labeled the current situation as the left needing to be “world-class” clowns.

During a podcast episode with co-host Al Hunt, they addressed a question from a Texan homeowner who noted the absence of Trump flags and signs in the area. This led to speculation about whether this reflected a drop in enthusiasm leading up to the midterms. Carville resonated with the contributor, saying he had experienced similar observations.

He recalled a past visit to a Walmart where people would enthusiastically recognize him for supporting Trump, but noted such encounters haven’t been happening lately. “I used to see Trump paraphernalia all over, but since the new year, that seems to have vanished,” he remarked.

Carville elaborated that the lack of visible support from Trump’s base might be indicative of a broader cultural shift. While he doesn’t think these folks are suddenly becoming Democrats, he isn’t convinced that their support in rural Texas will be as robust as before. “Honestly, it’s quite encouraging,” he added.

He began the podcast by labeling Trump’s inner circle as “clowns,” expressing perplexity over how some people voted for Trump in 2024 but continue to support him now. “I really don’t comprehend that,” he stated, but also recognized there could be individuals with good intentions who initially voted for him.

“If you’re still backing Trump, you’re a world-class clown,” Carville declared, criticizing Trump for not keeping his promises and focusing instead on making money. He expressed outrage over the percentage of Americans who still approve of Trump’s performance, questioning the rationale behind continuing support for him.

Finally, Carville concluded with pointed remarks, suggesting those who still support Trump might need to examine their own lives. “There’s something wrong there,” he indicated.

In response, a White House spokesperson dismissed Carville’s comments, labeling him as suffering from a condition they called “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
