Trump Issues Stark Warning to Iran Over Military Strikes
President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he would intensify military strikes against Iran if the country doesn’t return to negotiations. He expressed frustration, noting that Iran tends to break its commitments time and again once a deal is in place.
“We plan to strike them hard tonight,” Trump stated during an exclusive interview. “Tomorrow night, we’ll do it again. And the same goes for the night after.” This indicates a continued commitment to military action following recent strikes by the US Central Command near the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump elaborated on the aggressiveness of these military actions, stating, “Next week is going to be particularly tough on them. We’ll take out their power plants and destroy all of their bridges unless there’s an agreement.” His comments follow his decision to retract plans for a 20% toll on ships passing through the strategic waterway, emphasizing that he prefers economic partnerships over fees.
The president explained, “They wanted to invest heavily in the US instead of paying a fee. Frankly, this is a much better option.” Along with these military threats, the US has reinstated a naval blockade of Iranian ports under Trump’s orders.
Despite claiming significant progress in diminishing Iran’s military strength, he conceded that the country maintains some combat capabilities, likening its situation to that of a boxer still able to fight back, albeit weakly.
Trump stated that recent US representatives met with Iranian negotiators, citing a recurring problem: Iran’s failure to adhere to agreements. “They seek a deal. But whenever they reach one, they breach it,” he remarked. He underlined the urgency for negotiations, saying if an agreement isn’t reached soon, the consequences could be dire.
Addressing a recent surge in commercial shipping attacks in the Strait, Trump also confirmed that goals, including ensuring that the strait remains open, have been largely achieved, despite a significant drop in traffic through the area.
In response to questions regarding Iran’s nuclear facilities, Trump dismissed concerns, indicating that a quick military response would be straightforward if needed. “We can inflict severe damage quickly, and the enemy often disappears when they sense an attack is imminent,” he added.
Overall, Trump emphasized that the United States must act decisively to bring Iran to the negotiating table while portraying the nation as a weakened entity in the ongoing military standoff.
