James Woods Criticizes Zoran Mamdani’s Mayoral Victory
Actor James Woods has characterized the election of democratic socialist Zoran Mamdani as New York’s mayor as one of the “most dangerous events” in recent American history. He expressed concerns over what he sees as a potential “Muslim invasion” of the country.
“I think Mamdani’s election is the most dangerous thing that has ever happened in this country’s modern history,” Woods stated in a recent appearance on a conservative podcast hosted by Benny Johnson. He added, “Look, I think America is the greatest human endeavor in human history. But honestly, it’s in terrible shape.”
Woods reflected on the tragic events that have unfolded in New York, questioning how the nation could allow what he referred to as a “Muslim invasion” amidst the city’s past struggles, particularly referencing the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. “The city where the World Trade Center was… how can we tolerate this?” he asked.
He acknowledged some might see his comments as prejudiced but admitted, “I agree. I’m sorry.” He elaborated on his concerns about religions that, in his view, advocate violence against non-believers.
“I’m a Catholic and I believe certain things. I respect others’ rights to their beliefs. This is America, after all,” Woods commented. However, he continued to express his discontent, saying, “You can’t promote anything that threatens the safety of those around you.”
Woods went on to provide an unsettling outlook for the future of the United States, making claims that certain groups could “breed us, kill us, and they’re doing it in other places too,” referencing the persecution of Christians in regions like Sudan.
He humorously questioned whether Mamdani would be speaking at the World Trade Center on the upcoming anniversary of September 11, noting that some families affected by the tragedy have asked him not to engage in commemorative events.
This year’s anniversary signifies a solemn milestone, marking 25 years since nearly 3,000 lives were lost in the largest foreign attack on American soil since Pearl Harbor.
