President Joe Biden mentioned “transgender kids” in a White House LGBTQI+ statement, claiming his administration was protecting them from “discrimination.”
Notably, Biden and his allies have often sought to normalize gender dysphoria, viewing protections against child mutilation as a form of discrimination.
“During Pride Month, we celebrate the extraordinary courage and contributions of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (LGBTQI+) community,” Biden said. It began with a declaration“Advancing equality for the LGBTQI+ community is a top priority for my administration,” he said.
Biden praised the efforts his administration has made, including “combating the dangerous and cruel practice of so-called ‘conversion therapy’ and implementing a national strategy to end the HIV epidemic in this country.”

“But despite all the progress, we know that real challenges remain,” Biden continued, noting that his administration celebrated “Pride Month” on the South Lawn last year, but did not mention that it was the same event. Biden also addressed gun violence in his proclamation, saying he was “honored to meet with survivors of the Club Q and Pulse shootings, which tragically took the lives of LGBTQI+ Americans.”
“My administration has passed the most significant gun control legislation in nearly 30 years, but Congress must do its job and ban assault weapons,” he said. Biden then shifted the focus to children, arguing that “families are facing the painful decision to move to other states to protect their children from dangerous, hateful, anti-LGBTQI+ laws that target transgender children, terrorize families, and criminalize doctors and nurses.”
He wrote:
These bills and laws violate our most fundamental values and freedoms as Americans: our right to be who we are, to make our own medical decisions, and to raise our own children. Your life, your safety, and your dignity should never be put at risk.
Biden was referring to legislation aimed at protecting children from undergoing permanently damaging gender reassignment procedures, including genital mutilation, hormone therapy and the use of puberty blockers.
“To the entire LGBTQI+ community, and especially transgender kids, please know that the President and my entire administration stand with you,” Biden continued, also noting that schools are removing sexually explicit books from libraries.
“The Departments of Education and Justice are also considering whether book bans that target LGBTQI+ students and students of color and create hostile classroom environments may violate federal civil rights laws,” he continued, ultimately praising those who identify as LGBTQI+ as “brave.”
