Joe Biden and Antony Blinken Seek Recognition for President Trump's Landmark Middle East Peace Agreement

Discussions on Trump’s Peace Deal with Hamas

President Joe Biden and a former staff member are reviewing the significant achievements of President Donald Trump in establishing a peace deal between Israel and Hamas, a designated terrorist organization.

After the recent ceasefire, Biden expressed his gratitude on social media, acknowledging that the journey to reach this point was quite challenging. He emphasized the relief felt for the hostages who had endured immense hardships and are now reunited with their families.

Biden noted, “I am deeply grateful and relieved that this day has come. For the 20 last surviving hostages… and for the civilians in Gaza who have suffered immeasurable loss.” He shared that his administration tirelessly worked to rescue the hostages and Palestinian civilians while trying to end the conflict. He commended Trump and his team for their contributions in achieving this ceasefire.

Former Secretary of State Antony Blinken also shared his thoughts over the weekend, arguing that a solid post-conflict plan for Gaza was crucial. He recognized Trump’s adoption of a plan developed by Biden’s administration after extensive discussions with various partners, including Arab nations, Israel, and the Palestinian Authority.

He explained that the plan focuses on governance, security, humanitarian aid, and Gaza’s reconstruction, all led by Arab and international partners along with the Palestinians, but ultimately transitioning to Palestinian control.

However, social media reactions were not entirely positive. Some users criticized Biden and Blinken, with one comment highlighting a perception of ineffectiveness during their administration. Another remarked on the broader theme of unmet expectations.

Responding to Blinken’s remarks, Trump dismissed them as humor, stating, “We all know it was a joke. Look, they did a very bad thing.” This comes amid reports that Trump, along with several world leaders, participated in a peace signing event aimed at advancing the agreement between Israel and Hamas.

During the ceremony, Trump pointed out the long-standing challenges of achieving peace in the Middle East, describing the deal as “the biggest and most complex.” Additionally, rumors circulated about the release of 20 Israeli hostages by Hamas, prompting significant celebrations.

A recent article indicated that under a deal announced by Trump, Israel had released 250 Palestinian prisoners in anticipation of the return of Israeli hostages.
