Joe Biden Claims ‘More Mass Shootings in 2024’ than ‘Days in the Year’

President Joe Biden (D) claimed Thursday that there will be more mass shootings in 2024 “than there are days in the year.”

Biden posted the following claim on X:

He did not provide evidence for his claims or say where he had found evidence of “more than a few mass shootings this year.”

Biden made a similar claim on May 7, 2023. claim At that point in 2023, there had been “approximately 200 mass shootings” in the United States.

Breitbart News noted that Biden’s claims are reminiscent of those made by many on the left, who have begun using numbers from the Gun Violence Archive (GVA). GVA replaced the standard definition of a mass shooting with one that counts incidents in which “at least four people are injured or killed and do not include the shooter who may have been killed or injured in the incident.” .

In other words, a drive-by shooting that injured four people is classified as a “mass shooting” by GVA.

Breitbart News also reported. hill relied on GVA figures and reported that there were more than 600 mass shootings in the United States in 2022.
