Joe Rogan fired back at “The View” co-host Joy Behar, who slammed the Spotify podcaster as an unreliable source who “believes in dragons.”
Rogan confronted Behar's comments head-on in a special podcast episode released on Thanksgiving.
The podcaster, who commands an estimated audience of more than 11 million viewers, made headlines during the recent election as he supported the eventual winner, President-elect Donald Trump.
Logan has criticized traditional media for being out of touch with ordinary Americans.
“I had to read the article about 'The View' because I thought it was funny,” Rogan said on the Joe Rogan Experience, where guests and fellow comedians Mark Normand, Shane Gillis and Ali -Told Schaffer.
“Joy Behar wanted to say I believe in dragons! She said, 'Confirmed, confirmed!' Then the woman said, “Did you check again?'' And he said, “Yes, he believes in dragons.'' They lived with people,” Logan said with a laugh.
Rogan criticized Behar over her claim that “The View” provided solid information because it was backed by ABC News resources.
“This is the most important part, because this is right after she said, 'We're run by ABC News. You should trust us, not Joe Rogan, who believes in dragons.' , the stupidest statement by saying we should trust them because they've been double checked by ABC News – you didn't listen to me and you didn't listen to the wildlife biologists either. There wasn’t,” he said.
Logan blamed Behar's “crazy” behavior in light of the drop in TV ratings that could ultimately cost her her job.
“When you're worried that you're going to lose your job, and you're worried that podcasts are going to take over, and you're worried about who your news sources are, and you're worried, 'We said Donald Trump is Hitler, Half the people disagree with us and this is crazy, Joe Rogan. I believe in dragons! I'm just crazy,” Rogan said.
The podcaster added, “I don't hate Joy Behar.”
“If I met her, I'd want to hug her. If I were her, I'd probably say the same thing,” he said.
Rogan went on to characterize the controversy as “no big deal…but it's stupid to say that.”
“When you say we're OK because we have the support of ABC News, and then in the next sentence say Joe Rogan believes in dragons, you're undermining your own personal credibility,” he said. Said.
The Post has reached out to Behar for comment.
Rogan was reacting to a clip of Behar telling her “View” co-hosts last Thursday: I checked it. ”
Sarah Haines, Behar's “The View” co-host, asked Behar:
“Yes, I did,” Behar replied. “And he also thinks that dragon-like and perhaps dinosaur-like types of animals were roaming the Earth when humans were roaming the Earth.”
“So this is some kind of really, really bad information out there. But it's possible that Donald Trump was roaming the earth when dinosaurs existed,” Behar said. Ta.
Comments are Mediaite reported.
The part Behar was likely referring to was from an interview Logan conducted with wildlife biologist Forrest Galante.
Galante tells Logan about his “idea” that dragons may have once lived. As evidence, he said there were cross-cultural similarities in dragon paintings.
Logan did not fully accept the theory of the existence of dragons, but argued that depictions of dragons likely traced back to large lizards.
“My position is that maybe a crocodile or a big Komodo dragon or a big lizard killed people, and people fought them with swords and shit, and then they came back with a story and an artist painted it. ,” Logan said this week.
