John Mellencamp Demands Media ‘Shock America Out of Its Stupor’ and Publish Photos of Children Killed in Shootings

Famous “Jack and Diane” singer John Mellencamp reacts to the Kansas City Chiefs parade shooting, calls for more gun control, and tells news outlets they have the “courage” to publish photos of murdered children. “I want you to have it,” he appealed.

Mellencamp used posts on X To tell: “I am sorry to state the obvious truth. I do so out of love for this country and the pain of knowing once again that children are being killed by gun violence. If we want to find the collective will to change gun laws, let’s stop playing dumb politics.”

He also requested crime scene photos of murdered children and other people, asking, “Show the American people these murdered children and other people. What guns and bullets do to the human body.” Please show me.”

Mellencamp then pointed to how the media began reporting on Vietnam and cited that as an example of what he wants the media to do now.

When I was a teenager, there was the Vietnam War. Initially, no one paid much attention to this problem in a foreign country until the media took charge and told America how our sons were being slaughtered. When those images were shown on television, there was overwhelming demand for an immediate end to the war.

He did not mention that the American media reported this because it was working in line with public relations goals advocated by North Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh.

Mellencamp posted a post to I think that’s the only way to get America out of that mess.”

The singer did not mention that the two people charged in the shooting are juveniles who allegedly committed the crime in a state that has numerous gun laws regarding the legal ages for purchasing and owning a gun. Ta.For example, Giffords Note “Missouri prohibits the ‘reckless’ sale, lease, loan, transfer, or delivery of firearms to anyone under the age of 18 without the consent of the child’s parent or guardian.”

In June 2022, the U.S. Senate passed the bipartisan Safer Communities Act, a gun control package that was pushed through after the May 27, 2022 Uvalde school shooting, and Mellencamp said gun control considered too weak as a response to mass shootings. I used X post “To everyone reading this, please know… Politicians don’t say anything about you, they don’t say anything about me, they don’t say anything about our children.”
