Johnson vows there will be ‘hell to pay’ if Hamas violates ceasefire deal

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) has vowed that there will be “hell in retribution” if Hamas violates the recent cease-fire agreement with Israel.

Prime Minister Johnson appeared on NBC News' “Meet the Press” on Sunday and said he was hopeful about the ceasefire agreement announced last week. He recently spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and said they were “cautiously optimistic” that Palestinian militants would carry out their three-part plan.

Prime Minister Johnson delivered a message to the international community regarding the ceasefire agreement.

“As President Trump has made clear, we stand with Israel and everyone around the world needs to know that if Hamas violates these terms, they will pay a price in hell.” said.

The first of many hostages is scheduled to be released. Prime Minister Johnson said he expected Hamas to keep its promise and support ending the deal by releasing everyone.

President Biden announced a ceasefire last week, effectively ending the 15-month war in Gaza that has reduced the Strip to rubble and left many Palestinians starving.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he hoped there would be peace and that the hostages would be released.

“This is a very tragic situation and unnecessary,” he said.
