Jordan's King Abdullah II promised to bring 2,000 sick Palestinian children from the Gaza Strip on Tuesday.
Abdullah met with Trump at the White House. There, two leaders discussed the controversial proposal from Trump, taking over coastal strips and sending mixed signals on whether residents could, while robbing Gaza's large Palestinian population. I'm continuing. I'll be back.
Meanwhile, Trump also proposed that he had come up the day before about withholding assistance to Jordan and Egypt if he did not take up his proposal to migrate Palestinians after hearing the offer of Abdullah's sick children. It looked like a back pedal.
“I think the President is very pleased to do this with 2,000 children as soon as possible,” Abdullah said. “I believe the President looks forward to acquiring our Arab group here to discuss the overall plan.”
Abdullah outlined that his country will focus on cancerous and sick children. Trump praised it as a “beautiful gesture.”
Sitting in an oval office while signing the executive order, Trump was asked by Jordan and Egypt if he would withhold assistance “if they don't take Palestinians.”
“Yeah, maybe. Surely, why?” Trump replied. “If they don't agree, I'll probably withhold help. Yeah, Trump replied.
But Trump softened his stance Tuesday when he asked that question again next to one of those countries' leaders.
“I think we're on top of that,” Trump said.
“We donate a lot of money to Jordan and Egypt. By the way, we do a lot to both, but I don't need to threaten that,” he added.
US and JordanI signed a memorandumIn 2022, the US pledged to provide more than $1 billion a year in foreign aid. Provided by the USApproximately $1.5 billionIn 2023 foreign support for Egypt. Both countries are one of the top US foreign aid receivers.
Meanwhile, the president continued to double his view that the US had taken over Gaza after the war and expressed confidence in the meeting that the plan would “settle” its way into control. But Abdullah was slippery about such a proposal, which met opposition from many of the Arab region.
Abdullah said he would wait for the Egyptians to present their ideas.
The meeting suggests Hamas will not release additional hostages by Saturday's deadline as Israel claims Israel does not have an end to the contract. Because it appears to be easily broken.
Trump also proposed on Monday that the ceasefire would end on Saturday if the US and designated terrorist organizations did not release all remaining hostages in Gaza.
