Joy Reid surprises conservatives with her provocative comments about male anatomy in the locker room

Prominent conservatives reacted with surprise on Wednesday after former MSNBC host Joy Reid made comments regarding the sight of male genitalia in women’s locker rooms.

Reid, known for her progressive views, expressed that she would be “upset” if she encountered a penis in a women’s locker room. This sentiment caught many conservatives off guard on social media. Interestingly, Reid has previously criticized those who oppose transgender women using women’s locker rooms or competing in women’s sports.

Riley Gaines, a former NCAA swimmer, noted on social media, “Yes, Joy Reid claims she doesn’t want to see penises in women’s locker rooms. Yet, she seems to forget her history of attacking women who voiced similar concerns.”

In a recent episode of her podcast “Reed This Lead That,” Reid discussed a viral incident involving a transgender woman at a Gold’s Gym in Los Angeles. In this situation, she stated she would have reported the presence of a naked man to management if it happened to her.

She remarked, “If I turned around and saw a penis right in front of me, I would probably go to the administrator and ask, ‘Why is there a naked man in this room?'” Reid emphasized that her comments weren’t an attack on the transgender community, but rather a defense of women’s right to feel uncomfortable with certain situations.

Reid suggested that creating a gender-neutral third bathroom might help alleviate some of the tension surrounding this topic. Various conservative voices highlighted that her comments reflected a growing concern regarding discussions about transgender women in spaces traditionally reserved for women.

A TikTok account shared, “Joy Reid claims she would be alarmed if she saw a naked man in the women’s locker room, while labeling such concerns as extreme and hateful.”

Nick Freitas, a Republican state delegate from Virginia, remarked on the inconsistency, stating, “We’re seeing people deny having ever believed in these ideas they once actively promoted.” Canadian activist Chris Elston, also known as “Billboard Chris,” added that Reid would likely attempt to distance herself from her past comments.

As of now, Fox News Digital attempted to reach out to Reid for further comments, but there has been no response yet.
