Vice President Kamala Harris, her presidential campaign and Vice President Doug Emhoff have posted more than a dozen times on X since major stock indexes plummeted on Monday, but none of the posts mentioned the sudden market crash.
On Monday, the Jones Industrial Average, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite all made headlines with their sharp declines, but Harris, her husband and her campaign are ignoring the worrying market trends that are stoking anxiety among Americans.
Instead, they chose to post on social media about fundraising and a coffee blend they called the “First Gentleman’s Blend,” and to launch attacks on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio.
For example, Harris’ personal X page had just two posts as of 4 p.m. ET on Monday, hours after the market crashed. After attacking Trump in another post, Harris posted a link to a fundraising page for her own campaign.
Generations of Americans before us led the fight for freedom.
The baton is now in each of our hands.

Let us be clear: a man who proposes the “repeal” of the Constitution should not be given the opportunity to stand behind the seal of the President of the United States.
I will never do it again.

Harris made just one post on Monday on her official government account, under the handle “@VP,” about union wages and “the workplace.”
When union wages go up, everyone’s wages go up.
When union workplaces are safer, all workplaces are safer.
And stronger unions make America stronger. pic.twitter.com/jlRmCtAfG9

Shortly after 10:30 a.m. ET, Emhoff posted a photo of himself smiling while holding a bag of his “signature blend” coffee, dubbed “First Gentleman’s Blend.” If Harris becomes president, Emhoff’s title will become “First Gentleman’s Blend.”

Harris’ campaign account published a series of posts after the market began to sell off on Monday, but most of them were attacks on Trump and Vance and none mentioned the financial crisis.
The campaign posted 10 posts between 10:25 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. ET: seven criticizing Trump, two focusing on Vance and one promoting a new campaign volunteer.
Fox guest: We have over 177,000 volunteers ready to go for Kamala Harris. The campaign has raised a record $310 million. It has garnered bipartisan support, including Republicans who are backing Harris. pic.twitter.com/1KhkJyjaUM

Republican Mayor of Mesa, Arizona: My city would be badly off with President Trump’s reelection. It was important for my city to speak out. Silence is not an option. I support Kamala Harris. pic.twitter.com/VAMliqkHvv

Vance criticized Harris’ silence, questioning in a post on X, “Where is #Kamala.”
This moment could spell real economic disaster around the world, and we need the kind of steady leadership that President Trump has provided for the past four years.
Kamala Harris is too afraid to answer questions from the media to lead us through these difficult times. #WhereIsKamala

“This moment has the potential to unleash real economic disaster around the world. We need the kind of steady leadership that President Trump has demonstrated for four years,” he wrote.
“Kamala Harris is too afraid to answer questions from the media to lead us through these difficult times,” he added.
