Breitbart News Saturday Host Matthew Boyle asked whether the American Dream was being lost for many Americans.
Matson responded: “We have to fight for that. This is really a fight for the future of our country. Are we going down a socialist, communist path and embracing the communist dream? Or are we going to embrace the American dream that is fueled by capitalism, free markets and entrepreneurship?”
The author then The Wall Street Journal Research has shown that the American Dream primarily includes the following:
- Owning a home
- Having a family and children
- You can send your child to college
- Being able to retire
“All of that has become much more difficult under this administration,” Matson said.
Matson said Harris has proposed many harmful policies that go against the American Dream, including higher taxes, price controls and regulations.
These policies, he said, “destroy the American Dream.”
Boyle then asked what policies a future Trump administration should implement to help Americans realize their dreams.
Matson said the Trump tax cuts need to be preserved, and noted that Americans could see tax increases of 20 to 30 percent if they were to expire.
He also called for cutting capital gains and keeping corporate taxes low.
Matson said Trump should “keep the capital gains tax at 20 percent or lower it to zero. It's already your money, and you've earned it to fund your family's dreams. Corporations shouldn't be taxed 28 percent.”
Matson said a lower corporate tax rate would encourage more companies to “want to come to America and create jobs.”
