Injury Update on Karl Anthony Towns
Karl Anthony Towns’ left ring finger injury doesn’t appear to be an issue. Coach Tom Thibodeau mentioned that Towns wasn’t on the Knicks’ injury report and participated fully in practice on Sunday.
Towns sustained the injury during the second quarter of Game 3 against the Celtics but continued to play. He finished the game with 21 points and 15 rebounds in 36 minutes.
“He’s fine,” Thibodeau stated.
Throughout the match, Towns seemed to be signaling with his left hand. Unfortunately, he didn’t elaborate much on the injury post-game.
“I want to do whatever I can to be there,” Towns commented. “What does that mean? I’m not stopping; I’m going to keep finding ways to play.”
There’s been a noticeable drop in Towns’ performance this series; he’s at 7-7, following a strong 25-12 against the Pistons in the previous round.
As a team, the Knicks are shooting only 33% from beyond the arc against the Celtics while attempting 31 three-pointers each game. It’s a significant variance from their usual performances.

Thibodeau noted that his focus has shifted more to the Celtics, particularly with OG Anunoby’s lackluster performance, where he scored just 7 points across Games 2 and 3 with a shooting percentage of 15-3.
Anunoby had a standout 29 points in Game 1.
“He’s not getting the same space he had in that initial game,” Thibodeau remarked. “He can still find opportunities.”
In other news, Celtics forward Sam Hauser, who suffered a right ankle sprain, has been upgraded, although he missed the last two games following his injury in the series opener.
“He’s making progress every day,” said Boston coach Joe Mazzulla regarding Hauser.
