Karl Rove calls Michelle Obama 2024 theories ‘pure lunacy’

Republican strategist Karl Rove has called speculation, often pervasive on the far right, that former first lady Michelle Obama will replace President Biden in the 2024 election as “absolute madness.” I stopped calling.

Rove was reacting to the idea that Michelle Obama, former President Obama’s wife and one of the most popular Democrats in the country, could replace Biden as the Democratic nominee in 2024. Ta. This theory has been floated in past election cycles. And what came to mind was Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) last month.

Rove suggested in Wednesday’s remarks that Biden may not ultimately become the Democratic nominee, but Michelle Obama, who has repeatedly said she has no interest in the position or running for president. He said it was definitely not him.

“Somebody is going to wake up on that side, Jill Biden, maybe his sister Valerie Biden Owens, and say, ‘You know what? Joe, this is not the way you’re going to go down in history.’ he told host Stuart. Varney on the Fox Business segment.

“Let’s step aside and let the convention choose someone else to put someone else on the list of candidates to run against Donald Trump in the fall campaign.” But Democrats have no intention of allowing this to continue. I do not think. ”

“Can you please take care of this quickly?” asked Varney. “I keep hearing that Michelle Obama is going to be moved to a position like…no, you’re shaking your head. That’s not going to happen, right?”

Ms. Rove slammed the idea, saying she was angry about politics and did not support her husband, Mr. Barack, running for public office.

“No, no, look, she hates politics,” Loeb said. “You read her autobiography. She didn’t want her husband to run for state senator. She didn’t want him to run for president. She wasn’t a political animal. there is no.”

Rove added that the theory gained traction four years ago and was asked about the issue during former President Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign.

“They thought somehow Biden would be pushed aside by Obama, Andrew Cuomo would be the Democratic nominee, and Michelle Obama would be the running mate,” Loeb said. “And, you know, I told other President Trump people, including the president himself, that this is sheer insanity, starting with the fact that she hates politics. I love life.”
