Kelly Stafford ‘lost who I was’ when giving in to social media pressure

Kelly Stafford, wife of Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, revealed the one piece of advice she wishes someone had told her when she entered the NFL.

In a recent interview, the “Morning After” podcast host reflected on feeling lost in other people's opinions of her appearance and personality.

“What I wish someone had told me when I took this job was, 'Don't lose yourself,'” Kelly said in a recent interview. Interview with E! News“I say, 'Don't try to be what everyone wants you to be,' because I did that and lost sight of who I was. And that goes for personality, looks, everything.”

“You have everyone telling you how you should look, what you should say, what not to say, all these things. And when you start listening to that, you lose your values, you lose everything that makes up your character, you lose everything it takes to be the person your husband fell in love with.

“You can't turn off all the noise, but try to listen to yourself before listening to others.”

Kelly warned that she is not in a position to give advice to other WAGs, including Taylor Swift, who is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and Brittany Mahomes, wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, because “I've failed so many times.”

The mother of four has faced criticism on multiple occasions for comments she made about football and her relationship with Matthew.

Kelly made headlines in June when she recalled dating Matthew's backup quarterback in college just to make him jealous.

Prior to that, Kelly had come under fire for saying the Super Bowl-winning quarterback was struggling to work with the Rams' younger teammates in August 2023.

Kelly previously spoke during the emotional episode about struggling with imposter syndrome and feeling lost in her husband's shadow. “Morning After” Podcast In April.

The couple first met at the University of Georgia, where Matthew was the star quarterback and Kelly was a cheerleader for the Bulldogs.

The couple married in 2015 and have four daughters together: twins Sawyer and Chandler, both 7, Hunter, 6, and Tyler, 4.

Kelly will be touring the podcast this fall with the Cleat Chaser Tour, which kicks off in Detroit on September 7th.

The name apparently comes from a nickname she got while attending the University of Georgia.
