Spencer Pratt Opposes Federal Immigration Enforcement in Los Angeles

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt has made it clear he is against federal immigration enforcement in the city, suggesting that the controversy surrounding him may stem from his position as the front-runner in the race.

Since last year’s ICE raid that ignited violent protests, federal immigration authorities have targeted Los Angeles, reflecting California’s broader reluctance to collaborate with them and to honor detainer requests involving detained undocumented immigrants.

Pratt’s rise in politics, particularly in this mayoral bid, began partly because residents in his Pacific Palisades neighborhood felt overlooked by Mayor Karen Bass’s administration. “I don’t want ICE in LA. No one wants ICE in LA, except apparently Karen Basra,” he stated in a recent written message, which also included social media posts labeling Bass with a derogatory term for trash in Spanish.

Pratt emphasized that the route to keeping ICE out of Los Angeles is through upholding the law rather than defying it. He pointed to the contrast between Bass’s methods and those of San Francisco’s Mayor Daniel Lurie, who has managed to establish a more cooperative relationship with the Trump administration on immigration enforcement issues.

“Look at what Mayor Lurie did in San Francisco,” he noted. Although not aligned with Trump, Lurie reached out to the president to strike a deal. “The president promised to help with crime and keep ICE out of the city,” he added.

Pratt pointed out there have been no riots or incidents of confusion involving ICE agents in San Francisco, making a case for a different approach to enforcement. He referenced a statement from Trump about working with Lurie to alleviate tensions after a tense October incident involving a U.S. Coast Guard facility.

Bass’s Response to Riots Reflects a Long Political History

In his statements, Pratt shared observations about cities like San Francisco and Memphis, asserting that they don’t experience the same level of chaos present in Los Angeles. “This isn’t just a Democrat or Republican issue… What’s the common denominator? Activist mayors using their cities and residents to leverage their political agendas, causing real suffering,” he remarked.

He reiterated his criticism of Bass, referring to her jokingly as “Karen Basra,” and claimed she’s inadvertently ensuring that ICE remains a part of future concerns in the community.

“Adults can set aside their egos,” Pratt suggested, adding, “That’s how I plan to end ICE raids in Los Angeles. This city isn’t a political stage; it’s our home.”

Fox News Digital has reached out to Pratt, Bass, and DHS for further comments.
