LIV Golf: Bryson DeChambeau loses his socks, literally, amid lost putting bet

LIV Golf Captain Bryson DeChambeau loves interacting with fans.

During this weekend’s LIV Adelaide event, he and patrons literally bet their socks off.

It’s unclear how the bet was made, but the video begins with Crusher GC’s captain aiming for a long putt. The distraction seemed to work, with fans chanting in the background.

DeChambeau watched the ball go through the hole.

The former US Open champion lost a bet; physically take off socks and pass them on.

“And my socks go too. Enjoy. Maybe,” the video’s caption read.

DeChambeau documented it all on his Instagram Story. After realizing his fate, the 30-year-old gave a fake smile to the camera and began taking off his shoes.

Yes, he even gave them a sniff test when handing them over.

There was no backing out, no excuses — no, DeChambeau held off on ending his contract.

It was just another element of how crazy this weekend’s LIV Adelaide was.

There were multiple ‘shooies’ throughout the week and the players seemed to be enjoying the atmosphere, especially after Cam Smith’s All-Australian team won their first-ever team play-offs.

Fans could be seen walking around the field surprisingly close to the golfers, sometimes even hugging them. Unfortunately, on Friday, a fan chucked a water bottle and hit the caddy in the head, causing him to fall to the ground.

It was a record-breaking and frenetic weekend for the Saudi-backed league, showing the world why Australia needs more professional golf events, regardless of affiliation.
