He vowed to hold thieves and other criminals accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna announced Wednesday that at least two people had been arrested on suspicion of looting and warned potential copycats to stay away from evacuated homes.

California Governor Gavin Newsom's office announced that the state is sending more than 7,500 firefighters and support personnel to assist Los Angeles as the fires continue.
Nearby states including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah and New Mexico are also sending fire services.
