Two Los Zetas cartel leaders and one of their top gunmen face a series of pending convictions for their involvement in the kidnapping and murder of scores of migrants in San Fernando, Tamaulipas from 2010 to 2011. I received it.
On Monday, a Mexican federal judge based in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, handed down three separate sentences to three senior Los Zetas members responsible for several massacres. These include the mass murder of 72 migrants in San Fernando in 2010. The judge sentenced Martin “El Quiro” Estrada Luna to 73 years in prison, Ricardo Roman “El Coyote” Palomo Rincones to 82 years, and Juvenal “El Alacran” Burciaga. 76 years of Venegas.
According to information released by Mexico's Attorney General's Office (FGR), the sentences against the three men are related to charges of involvement in organized crime, aggravated kidnapping, and corruption of minors. The three have been previously sentenced for other crimes and are part of a large group of Los Zetas cartel members who have been detained in Mexico since 2011.
In one of the crimes, the judge ruled that the three were directly involved in one of the two San Fernando massacres. As Breitbart Texas reported, in August 2010 Los Zetas gunmen captured 72 migrants heading to the border, took them to a ranch near San Fernando, murdered them, and stacked their bodies in a warehouse. . The 73rd immigrant managed to survive by pretending to be dead, and then escaped when he had a chance. The migrants were able to contact authorities, who searched the ranch and found the bodies.
At the time of the massacre, Los Zetas had received information that the Gulf Cartel's former allies turned mortal enemies were recruiting immigrants from various nationalities. Los Zetas began intercepting buses and groups of migrants and began killing people they believed to be suspicious. Criminal gangs buried these migrants in shallow graves in what became known as the Second San Fernando Massacre. Mexican authorities have officially discovered 194 bodies in 47 mass graves. However, the actual death toll is believed to be much higher.
