Republican Rep. Barry Loudermilk of Georgia on Wednesday called out Blaze Media co-founder Glenn Beck over a Jan. 6, 2021 report by Blaze News investigative journalist Steve Baker. He gave reasons why the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice may pursue the case. Because the federal government wants to keep the fact that “he’s onto something” a secret.
What are the details?
In a radio show interview with Loudermilk, Beck brought up Tuesday’s news that Republican House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan had launched an investigation into the Justice Department into Baker’s March 1 arrest and that “all documents… and requested the submission of documents.” [internal] Communication…I want to know why this guy was treated differently than the New York Times. Will you find anything with this? No one believes something like this will change anything, but it’s honestly scary. ”
Loudermilk, chairman of the House Oversight subcommittee, responded that he could expect the FBI to say, “This is an active investigation, so we can’t provide anything.” But he added: “One of the reasons they did this could be very solid information.” [Baker] You can’t subpoena what you’ve been working on or submit it to Congress. That’s one theory why they went after them. [Baker] and it’s not [other journalists] — That’s because he was onto something. You see, my father, a World War II veteran, always told me…When you cross the target, you take the most shelling. ”
Loudermilk added that Baker’s treatment by the federal government is a “red flag” that “he’s up to something.”
Beck then moved on to the upcoming analysis that Baker is working on, one that Loudermilk is familiar with, which Beck said could turn out to be “one of the worst things that could happen.” Indeed, if Baker’s investigation proves that to be the case, Beck said, “I think this is regime change. And I use the word ‘regime’ intentionally.”
“I agree with that,” Loudermilk replied. “People don’t go to such extreme measures to hide something that isn’t true.”

Mr. Baker listened to Mr. Beck’s interview with Loudermilk Wednesday and offered Blaze News his perspective on it all.
“When Glenn spoke to Congressman Loudermilk this morning, he mentioned an upcoming article in our series about leadership failure and corruption in the Capitol Police,” Baker explained. “We are also not done with our January 6th true story about former U.S. Communist Party official Harry Dunn and Special Agent David Lazarus. We continue to work with the Loudermilk committee on these We continue to collaborate on articles and other developing stories, even today’s bombshell, interestingly enough. judicial oversight — about the CIA assets deployed on Jan. 6 — intersects with a story I’ve been watching and developing over three years of birding. As the saying goes, ‘the truth is out there,’ and many great people are still working to bring those truths to the American people. ”
Jordan’s poignant letter
jordan tuesday letter Beck’s remarks to Graves, which he referred to in a radio interview with Loudermilk, included the Justice Department’s “selective prosecution” of Baker’s March 1st arrest in Dallas and “the violation of journalists’ First Amendment rights.” It outlined “serious concerns” about the ministry’s efforts.
The letter says that while no other journalists who were at the Capitol on January 6 have been charged, the Justice Department still decided to indict Baker, who had been critical of the federal investigation and prosecution related to January 6. It points out that it did.
In the letter, Jordan also requested that Graves provide the following by no later than 5 p.m. on March 26:
- All documents and communications related to Baker’s arrest.
- All documents and communications related to the investigation, prosecution, and arrest of other journalists who covered January 6th.
- All documents and communications related to the Department of Justice’s decision to require pretrial detention of defendants charged in connection with January 6th, and defendants who are currently or were in pretrial detention on January 6th.

Shortly thereafter, Blaze Media Editor-in-Chief Matthew Peterson appealed to House Speaker Mike Johnson to release all videos due to the slow pace at which everything recorded on video can be viewed without restriction. . On November 17, Mr. Johnson did just that.
Baker’s investigative efforts also resulted in two additional analyses, both focused on Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn: “The N-word on January 6th and Not” and “January Harry Dunn’s explanation for the 6th doesn’t fit. Not at all.”
In December, Baker claimed to have discovered significant misconduct involving Dunn, the Capitol Police, the media and Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.).
