Concerns Surrounding Mayor-Elect Zorhan Mamdani

With the election of Zorhan Mamdani as mayor, a wave of troubling influences appears to be surfacing around City Hall.

Insiders seem to be sending clear warnings to the incoming mayor. They suggest that failing to align with a specific agenda could make things quite challenging.

Mamdani’s swearing-in ceremony, set for after midnight on New Year’s Day, promises to bring a fresh chapter, though those in the cheaper seats might just end up nursing hangovers. He has proclaimed this as a time for “free stuff” — free buses, free groceries, free childcare. Some predict potential increases in illicit activities.

Meanwhile, the shadow of Linda Sarsour looms large.

The Brooklyn native and Palestinian activist is acknowledged to have influenced the mayor-elect, securing Muslim votes for him. Sarsour is pushing for a firm stand on anti-Semitic policies and an adversarial stance toward the U.S.

At 45, she co-chaired the 2017 Women’s March, protesting against Donald Trump’s presidency, but left the organization in 2019 after controversial actions, including barring Jewish participants. She infamously stated that one couldn’t be both a feminist and a Zionist, and has even made disparaging remarks about her adversaries.

She has openly criticized the U.S., the very nation that grants her voice, calling it a place of “genocide and slavery.”

Now, she’s issuing threats to Mamdani and anyone reluctant to oppose Israel.

At a recent conference, she cheekily told attendees to keep doing their jobs, warning that Democrats backing Israel risked facing backlash.

City Council member Alexa Avilz, also present, perpetuated harmful stereotypes, suggesting that Jews wield control over various societal institutions.

She specifically directed her comments at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, claiming it exercises significant influence over Congress and media.

Sarsour has had a history of making hostile remarks toward Jewish critics and women who oppose her views. For instance, in 2011, she took to social media to attack notable figures like Brigitte Gabriel and Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

Her extreme comments have only escalated over the years.

As Mamdani has advanced politically, the company he keeps has raised eyebrows. He was photographed with Uganda’s deputy prime minister, Rebecca Kadaga, known for notoriously harsh anti-LGBTQ laws.

Mamdani has claimed ignorance of her legislative actions, although some question his previous connections.

Additionally, he made appearances with Imam Siraj Wahaj, linked to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing case. This tragedy claimed six lives, including that of a pregnant woman.

Mamdani is affiliated with the Democratic Socialist Party of America. Currently, the NYC chapter seems to be pressuring its members to align with an anti-Israel stance.

The “Antiwar Task Force” has put forth various demands, such as terminating city contracts with entities associating with Israel and prohibiting the sale of Israeli goods in municipal markets.

There are serious concerns regarding alliances characterized by anti-Semitic behaviors, anti-feminism, and questionable political connections. It seems pivotal for Mamdani to publicly distance himself from such influences if he wishes to avoid scrutiny.
