Man arrested for ‘numerous threats of violence’ against Vice President Harris

A 66-year-old man was arrested on federal charges of making violent threats against Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris and other public officials.

Police arrested suspect Frank Lucio Carillo in Winchester, Virginia, after he reportedly made “numerous violent threats” on social media against the vice president, President Joe Biden and FBI Director Christopher Wray.

The FBI’s Phoenix field office was reportedly first notified about threats being made against Harris on the social media platform GETTR in July.

“Open political debate is a cornerstone of our American life. We can disagree and we can debate, but when those disagreements escalate into threats of violence, law enforcement must step in,” Christopher R. Kavanaugh, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Virginia, said in a press release.
