Missing Hunter Found After 20 Days in California Forest
A hunter who had been missing for 20 days in a California forest has been located and hospitalized.
Ron Dailey, 65, went missing in the Sierra National Forest after his vehicle broke down while he was attempting to climb a 10,000-foot mountain during a hunting trip on October 13. Reports indicate that he used his truck as shelter and managed to gather about two weeks’ worth of food before setting out downhill.
“You either try to get out, or you sit here and die,” Dailey said.
Daly faced significant challenges while navigating the woods, including several falls and losing his cellphone. As someone who relies on his faith, he continued to pray for assistance. “I can barely walk anymore, Lord, please help me, Father,” he expressed. Ultimately, he spotted a car’s headlights and was, as he put it, “thankful.”
After 20 days of being lost, Dailey was found by another hunter and was subsequently taken to the hospital.
His wife, Glenda, shared an update on Facebook, expressing gratitude for the support received during the ordeal. “God has answered our many prayers. He will be shocked when we show him to all those who have been looking for him,” she noted. She added that he’s resting now and is expected to be released soon, emphasizing that hospital staff are providing care and that his condition is improving. She also expressed deep appreciation for those who helped find him.
Glenda concluded her post with a powerful message: “God is still working miracles, and we are just showing them.”
