San Francisco Man Accused of Multi-Store Theft
A man from San Francisco is facing serious accusations after allegedly stealing from various Walgreens stores multiple times without facing significant repercussions.
Tyrese Boswell, 24, is reported to have stolen nearly $40,000 worth of goods from Walgreens in 27 different incidents, according to the San Francisco Police Department.
Authorities suggest that Boswell targeted stores in the North Beach and Nohe Valley neighborhoods between late 2025 and April 2026, primarily making off with items like cosmetics and batteries.
Boswell’s first arrest occurred on Christmas Eve when he was charged with 18 theft-related offenses at a Walgreens located on Columbus Avenue. Despite this, after being released, he went right back to stealing, hitting another Walgreens on Castro Street, where he supposedly committed seven more thefts in about a week before being re-arrested on April 4.
After his second release, Boswell reportedly returned to the same Castro Street Walgreens two additional times before facing yet another arrest on April 16.
Currently, he is up against nine felony charges for second-degree theft, seven for grand larceny, seven for petty theft with prior convictions, and one misdemeanor theft charge.
His pattern of repeated arrests and quick returns to the same locations highlights ongoing worries about retail theft in San Francisco. Critics of current policies suggest that lenient release practices seem to encourage repeat offenders to continue their activities with little deterrent effect.
This situation reflects a broader frustration with what some see as a “revolving door” justice system, especially in a city grappling with ongoing issues related to organized retail crime and public safety.
Boswell is among five individuals arrested recently by the Organized Retail Crime Task Force of the San Francisco Police Department, which is believed to have contributed to over $43,000 in stolen merchandise.
“The Organized Retail Crime Task Force is actively working to apprehend prolific retail theft suspects,” a police statement indicated.
In addition to Boswell, a 36-year-old named Faneuil Lasher has also been arrested for various thefts connected to a Walgreens on Polk Street, while Jacqueline Michelle, 33, and Darlene Gilbert, 35, face charges after allegedly stealing more than $3,200 in meat, seafood, and produce from Safeway stores across 14 separate incidents from January to April.
Lastly, a 38-year-old named Stanley Young is accused of persistently stealing from multiple coffee shops in San Francisco, despite a history of previous arrests and legal repercussions.
