Seattle Riot Incident Involving American Flag
A man managed to snatch the American flag from individuals identifying as Mexican nationalists during a riot in Seattle on Wednesday, despite facing assaults in the process.
The uproar started following a raid by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), first igniting in Los Angeles and then spreading to several other cities. In Seattle, rioters were lighting trash cans on fire and attempting to dispose of the American flag when the man intervened.
Published by post-Millennial reporter Katie Daviscourt, a statement mentioned, “After attempts were made by Mexican nationalists to burn it in Seattle’s anti-ICE protests, the man rescued the American flag.” The post also indicated that antifa militants attacked the man who saved the flag.
In a 64-second video clip, various masked groups were seen trying to wrest the flag away from an unidentified man after it had been taken from someone trying to discard it into a blazing trash can.
Later, Daviscourt noted that “Mexican nationalists who sought to burn the flag were eventually subdued by Seattle’s police.” Amid these disturbances, President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of 700 Marines to support federal security forces as the unrest in Los Angeles stretched into its fifth day. Some Democratic figures have suggested halting ICE’s operations in Los Angeles to help “restore order” in the city.
On a related note, the FBI posted a video showing an individual, identified as Elpido Reyna, throwing rocks at the cars of federal law enforcement officers. A reward of $50,000 has been offered for information leading to his capture.
