Georgia Man Found Guilty of Murder Following Car Hijacking
A troubled man from Georgia, who proclaimed himself a “divine being,” has been convicted of murder after a car hijacking incident. This individual, Brandon Keller, 32, had previously inflicted severe injuries on himself to gain entry into a medical facility, authorities revealed.
In court, Keller insisted, “I’m a sacred being,” and described his arrival as a “special presentation” involving himself, known as Robert Brandon Louis Keller.
Keller expressed a desire to be trusted, stating, “I want to be trusted and have the ability to tell the truth, and this is not an environment where I can be trusted.”
During the trial, it was disclosed that in October 2024, 43-year-old Bruce William Dupree stopped on a Georgia interstate to assist Keller, who appeared to be hitchhiking. Under the influence of drugs, Keller then attacked Dupree, inflicting fatal wounds by slitting his throat and subsequently dragging his body into the grass on Interstate 16. Dupree was found bleeding and calling for help, but sadly succumbed to his injuries.
A witness contacted 911 after noticing Dupree in distress. Following the incident, police apprehended Keller in Dupree’s stolen vehicle at a local inn in Register, Georgia.
Keller faced a total of ten charges; he was convicted of murder, aggravated assault, motor vehicle hijacking, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime. Judge Matthew Hube stated that Keller “represents the worst of us,” adding that he exploited those attempting to help him, leaving destruction behind.
As a consequence of his actions, Keller received two life sentences and an additional 25 years. Bulloch County Deputy District Attorney Jillian Gibson expressed gratitude for the verdict, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the community from such a dangerous individual.
Mandy Moore, Keller’s niece, reflected on the tragic loss, affirming, “Bruce is gone and he’s not coming back. There’s nothing that can fix that, nothing that can fill that void.” She noted the positive outcome of the justice system, stating, “No other family will have to go through what we went through at the hands of this man.”
