Marshals capture fugitive discovered hiding under a child's bed in Washington state

The U.S. Marshals Service apprehended a fugitive in Washington state last week after discovering him hiding beneath a child’s bed. Keentley Devon Bryant-Mulner was arrested in Spokane on Friday, facing multiple outstanding warrants for probation violations linked to a 2024 arrest involving firearm use and assault.

U.S. Marshals reported that their Fugitive Task Force had surrounded a residence on South Regal Street around 5:30 p.m. Officers removed a sliding glass door to enter the home after calling out to the occupants. Two bystanders left the premises, but Bryant-Mulner remained inside.

During their search, officials found him attempting to conceal himself under the bed. He reportedly gave up without causing any issues.

In addition to Bryant-Mulner’s arrest, officers recovered a handgun and a high-capacity magazine during the operation. Craig Thayer, U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Washington, emphasized the success of collaboration among various law enforcement agencies, stating that, “This arrest reflects the strength of partnership and teamwork…” He also noted that gun violence is a pressing concern in Spokane, highlighting the need to remove dangerous individuals and firearms from the streets.

This operation involved the U.S. Marshals’ Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force, along with assistance from the FBI, Spokane Police, and the Washington State Department of Corrections.
