Megyn Kelly is making a surprising prediction about Trump's vice presidential pick, but she doesn't think MAGA voters or Tucker Carlson will be happy about it.
“Is it inconceivable that he would choose Haley? Absolutely not. I understand MAGA doesn't want that. They want Nikki Haley to be everything they stand for. We make ourselves believe that we are against something,” Kelly tells Dave Rubin.
But Trump has to do what he has to do to win, and Haley may be the ticket.
“He really has to win personally if he doesn't want to go to jail,” Kelly explains. “If your situation is like that, I think you're thinking, 'If I tell MAGA to get over Nikki Haley, MAGA will get over Nikki Haley.'”
“I know for a fact that President Trump thinks so,” she added.
Kelly knows Trump needs moderates and independents to win, and Haley will bring those voters with him.
Rubin agreed, adding, “I couldn't agree more.” Choosing Nicki' is like doing what Trump says, actually. ”
Tucker Carlson is also not a fan of Nikki Haley and recently spoke about the increased turnout of Democrats to Republican polling places. Biden has alienated those voters, who are now showing interest in Haley as a potential presidential candidate.
Rubin speculated that Tucker might “actively campaign against” Haley if Trump chooses her as vice president.
Kelly disagrees.
“I think he's going to come back to President Trump. I think he's going to do it under protest,” she says.
