First Lady Melania Trump Leads AI Education Meeting
First Lady Melania Trump recently led a significant meeting with U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon and the U.S. Director of Science and Technology Policy, focusing on the responsible growth of artificial intelligence (AI).
On Thursday, she assembled the White House Task Force on Artificial Intelligence Education in the East Room. The event brought together leaders and representatives from over 135 American companies dedicated to advancing AI education.
“I believe AI could be our country’s largest growth sector during this administration. Honestly, I wouldn’t even be shocked if it becomes the driving force of progress in the U.S. But as leaders and parents, we must ensure we handle AI’s growth carefully,” Melania remarked just before the summit.
She also collaborated with cabinet members and CEOs on emerging technologies.
“These are unusual times,” she noted. “We have a responsibility to prepare America’s children.”
The gathering included speeches from First Ladies, Task Force members, and private sector leaders.
This meeting marked the second convening of the White House Task Force on Artificial Intelligence Education since President Donald Trump signed an executive order on April 23rd, which aimed at introducing AI education for young Americans.
Melania has consistently advocated for online safety for children through her initiative, which has gained bipartisan support. This initiative led to the signing of a law by President Trump on May 19th.
Additionally, she made headlines recently for utilizing AI technology in her audiobook version of her bestselling book, “Melania.”
On Tuesday, Melania announced the National Presidential Artificial Intelligence Challenge, inviting K-12 students and educators to “unleash their creativity and showcase the spirit of American innovation.”
