Mich. County Clerk Suggests Dems Would Face Difficulties In Changing Presidential Candidate On State Ballot

A Michigan county clerk has warned Democrats about the difficulties of potentially changing the presidential candidate on the state’s ballot.

In a thread posted on X on Wednesday, Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum said the elections community would have serious issues with any changes to the candidate slate.

Byrum noted that the party has an August deadline to certify its candidates, adding that states must start distributing ballots by late September.

In an interview with local media, Byrum stressed that potential litigation could be one of the biggest obstacles in the process.

Michigan Democrats are scheduled to hold their nominating convention on August 24th.NumberThis was just a few days after the party’s national convention.
