Migrant Apprehensions at Border Continue Westward Move from South Texas to California

The San Diego area led the way in the number of immigrants apprehended during the first 21 days of April. This tipping point marks the end of the westward movement of migrants crossing the border from South Texas to Arizona to Southern California.

Border Patrol agents in the San Diego area encountered nearly 25,000 migrants in the first three weeks of April, according to unofficial Border Patrol reports reviewed by Breitbart Texas. This makes the sector the busiest along the southwestern United States border with Mexico.

Border enforcement efforts by Texas and Mexico have forced migrants to head west since last year, when the Rio Grande Valley and Del Rio regions swapped places for the top spot in clearance rates. The westward movement spread first to the El Paso area and then to the Tucson area.
