Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Sunday on NBC’s Meet the Press that Israel must do whatever it takes to survive, knowing that U.S. military personnel are “full of crap.” He said there is.
Host Kristen Welker said, “The question would be, why would Israel need the most massive bomb, capable of destroying an entire city block, to wage this war? Why more precisely a bomb? “Can’t we drop it?” he said.
“Why did we drop two bombs, nuclear bombs, on Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end a war we couldn’t afford to lose?” Graham said. Apparently you don’t understand what Israel is facing. ”
“So, after the attack on Pearl Harbor, fighting the Germans and Japanese and facing national ruin, we decided to end the war by bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki with nuclear weapons. It was the right decision. Give Israel the bomb it needs to end a war it cannot afford to lose, and work together to minimize casualties.”
“Military officials argue that much technology has advanced since the bomb was dropped, which is why Israel and other developed countries have more accurate information,” Welker said. I ask this question because President Biden is not the first president to use arms shipments to try to influence Israeli policy, as you know, former President Ronald Reagan did it many times. Withheld arms from Israel. Has President Reagan shown that using American military aid as leverage can actually be an effective way to constrain and influence Israeli policy?”
Graham asked, “Can I say this?” Why doesn’t America need to drop two nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end an existential war? Why do we Was it okay to do that? I thought it was okay. So, Israel, do whatever you have to do to survive as a Jewish state. ”
“Military personnel, technology has changed,” Welker said.
Graham said, “The military people you’re talking about are all crap.”
