Mitchell Robinson’s Recovery Status
On Monday, Mitchell Robinson was in a familiar situation.
Currently recovering from a fractured right little finger, Robinson participated in individual practice with the Knicks for the second consecutive day. With the NBA Finals just two days away, the team has yet to confirm whether he’ll be available for Game 1.
“I’m just waiting on the medical staff,” said coach Mike Brown. “He had a private practice today and is looking forward to guidance from the medical team regarding his next steps.”
Robinson’s workout was supervised by assistant Mark Bryant, and he was seen wearing protective gear on his right hand.
Robinson recently underwent surgery for his fractured finger. Reports indicate he fractured his fifth metacarpal, which connects the wrist to the little finger.
The specifics of how he got injured are still unclear. The Knicks clarified that the injury did not occur during a game or practice.
There are expectations that he might be ready to play by Wednesday, as reported earlier.
Knicks Talk Live Show Announcement
In other news, the Knicks are launching a new show called “Knicks Talk Live” that will air on non-game days. This show is set for weekdays at 8 PM on MSG Networks.
Additionally, the network will feature coverage during Tuesday’s media day.
Furthermore, MSG Networks will continue its hour-long pregame and postgame shows through the Finals.
Karl-Anthony Towns Reflects on Join the Knicks
In a nostalgic moment, just before his debut with the Knicks, Karl-Anthony Towns wore a shirt commemorating the 1999 Finals against the Spurs. Now, the teams are set for a rematch in this year’s final.
“I actually found that shirt my first day with the team,” Towns remarked. He continued, “It’s amusing. While practicing, I was out shopping for vintage items and stumbled upon that shirt. Oddly enough, I wore it in my first game. Looking back, I think it was an omen.”
