“All Boys Aren’t Blue” is a series of personal essays written by LGBTQIA+ activist George M. Johnson and incorporated into the school curriculum.
The book is marketed as a young adult nonfiction “memoir manifesto” and focuses on Johnson's experiences growing up queer and black. Some of the essays included are incredibly sexual and graphic.
Tiffany Justice of Mamas for Liberty was appalled that the book was included in the school curriculum and even appeared on Joy Reid's show to discuss the book.
“What a tragic story of a young man who was anally raped by an adult family member. I mean, you have incest, you have rape, you have pedophilia,” Justice explained to Reed, adding, “You have a strap-on in a public school. “Under what circumstances is an on-dildo acceptable?” he added.
When Ms. Reid tweeted this part to her followers, she quoted Justice's question but replaced “strap-on dildo” with “xxxxx xx xxxxx.”
Stu Bruguiere finds this fascinating.
“She wouldn't even tweet these words to her adult followers. But somehow this should be appropriate for school children,” Bruguiere tells the judge.
Justice is grateful that Reed actually had her on the show and believes that “this is a very important conversation to have with America and the American people.”
“The truth is, most people don't know what these books are about,” she added.
