A group of moms urges parents to watch Disney+ Agatha All Along It's not exactly family friendly, and the cast of the series seems to back that up.Agatha All Along It is a sequel and spin-off of WandaVision It tells the story of Agatha Harkness, the antagonist of the 2021 hit series. Agatha All Along (TV-14), according to the Disney synopsis, she “assembles an unlikely band of witches and journeys along the witch's path, a series of challenges in which if they survive, they will be rewarded with what the witches desire most.”
The dark themes and witchcraft will likely scare off many parents, but faith-based activist group One Million Moms said: Agatha All Along It will be inappropriate for children.
“Parents assume that streaming platforms like Disney+ are designed for kids and that the last place parents want their children to be confronted with content related to sexuality or witchcraft,” says Monica Cole, director of Disney+. One Million Moms“These types of issues have been introduced far too soon and too quickly, making this type of content extremely common and unnecessary,” he wrote in an email to parents this week.
Some mainstream critics have called the series “Marvel's gayest project ever.” In the first episode, the Witch licks Agatha's hand and reveals that her heart is black and “beats for you.”
“I was so happy,” said actress Aubrey Plaza, who plays Blackheart. Variety He said that at the end of the series “there will be a gay explosion.”
Sasheer Zamata, who plays Jennifer Kael, said she agreed that the series goes further than any other Marvel film in terms of LGBT themes.
“Witches are inherently queer because we're ostracized and marginalized for different reasons,” she told Variety. “The show really does a good job of representing different types of people and showing that we can all use the power within ourselves to go forward and become great.”
“There are many sides to this show, and gay is one of them,” said Joe Locke, who plays the teen.
Lead actress Kathryn Hahn, who plays Agatha Harkness, told Variety, “The most interesting thing about the show is that it's not really what it's about. It's become so ordinary.”
One Million Moms director Cole said Disney+ “has not learned its lesson about responsible programming,” adding that rather than offer family-friendly programming, the platform has “decided to once again do the politically correct thing.”
She said the series promotes “the LGBTQ agenda.”
“Disney+ should focus on entertainment, not pushing an agenda,” Cole wrote. “Conservative families should urge Disney+ to remove adult and controversial themes from its programming.”
