More Americans say they trust former President Trump than President Biden on the economy and inflation, a new poll finds.
ABC News/Ipsos poll The economy and inflation are among the top issues for Americans in this presidential election, with more Americans saying they trust Trump than Biden on this issue. 88% of Americans surveyed said the economy was important to them when deciding who to vote for, and 85% said the same was true about inflation.
Forty-six percent of Americans surveyed said they trust Trump on the economy, and 32% said the same about Biden. Another 21% said they did not trust either of the presidential front-runners on this issue.
Additionally, 44% of Americans surveyed said they trust President Trump to tackle inflation, compared to 30% for Biden. Another 25% said they did not trust either candidate on this issue.
The poll also found that more people said they were less financially well off under Biden than said they were better off under the Biden administration. Forty-three percent of those surveyed said their economic situation was not much better since Biden became president, 40% said it was about the same and 16% said it was better.
The poll also asked respondents about a hypothetical race between Biden and Trump, and found that the race between Biden and Trump remains close.
Among all adults surveyed, Mr. Trump’s approval rating was 46% and Mr. Biden’s approval rating was 44%, but among registered voters, Mr. Biden’s approval rating was 46% and Mr. Trump’s approval rating was 45%. %was.
