More than a dozen injured as missile from Yemen strikes Israel

Yemen's Houthi rebels have fired a ballistic missile into the Jewish state, injuring more than a dozen Israelis. This was the second attack by an Iranian-backed terrorist group this week. According to the Israel Defense Forces.

The Israeli military said air raid sirens sounded shortly before the collision in Tel Aviv and surrounding areas at around 3:30 a.m. local time, and that attempts to intercept the rocket attack had failed. The Times of Israel reported.

The missile attack caused Israelis to be evacuated from their beds in the middle of the night, resulting in at least 14 people receiving minor injuries from broken glass.

The Israeli military said the airstrike was not a direct response to the missile launch, but a pre-planned response to the months-long Houthi invasion, the Associated Press reported.

Israeli fighter jets were already in flight at the time of the missile launch.

The Houthis have launched more than 200 missiles and drones toward Israel since October 7, 2023.
