Mr. Peanut Appears at People’s Security Bank & Trust Ribbon Cutting

WILKES-BARRE — Saturday saw a lively crowd at the new branch of People’s Security Bank & Trust, located at 111 East Market St. Attendees were eager to snap photos with Mr. Peanut, check out Planter’s Nutmobile, savor free Italian ice cream, have their children’s faces painted, explore historical exhibits, and witness the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the bank.

The day was supposed to feature the unveiling of a Mr. Peanut sculpture, but that has been postponed, with plans for the installation to happen in the upcoming weeks.

Tux, the mascot for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, also joined the festivities. Meanwhile, 98.5 KRZ provided live music, games, and prizes, further energizing the atmosphere. This was a great opportunity for people to meet the team at People’s Security Bank & Trust and get to know the new branch.

Michael Cummings, the executive vice president and director of marketing, mentioned, “Our new Wilkes-Barre office reflects our continued commitment to serving the Greater Wilkes-Barre community by providing convenient banking solutions and the personal service our customers expect.”

Starting Monday, the new Wilkes-Barre branch will welcome customers, marking a move from its previous location at 1 N. Main St. in Public Square.
